Conference is now less than three weeks away and we kindly remind that late registration deadline is closing. 

Online registration with the possibility to book free sightseeing tours with bus transfer on 14 June or 17 June
will close this Sunday, 31st May, 2015.

After this only registration with on-site payment option will be available.

Finnair will fly every day between Tartu and Helsinki since May

7 April, 2015

Finnair, which will start servicing the Tartu-Helsinki flight route in May 2015, revealed the new flight plan, according to which flights will be operated on a daily basis. 

According to the new schedule, departures from Helsinki are on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 16:15. Departures from Tartu are on these days at 17:25. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departure from Helsinki is at 11:10 and from Tartu at 12:20. The flight time is 40 minutes according to plan. Finnair flies to Tartu with ATR-type 68-seat aircraft.

For the ESN2015 participants this is highly positive news. As you can find flights via Helsinki directly to Tartu. From Tartu Airport to the hotels in city center with the shuttle bus the drive takes only 15 minutes.

Please keep in mind that early registration to the ESN 2015 Conference is closing on April 10th 2015. We recommend to book your place for the Conference here if you have not registered yet. We´d like to see you in Tartu.

Abstract submission deadline for poster presentations was March 31st 2015. All participants who have submitted their abstracts on time will receive the decision via email no later than April 7th 2015.

In case you have not submitted an abstract yet but would like to do so, the Scientific Committee can still accept this as late breaking abstract. For this please submit your abstract as soon as possible.

Late breaking abstracts that are submitted after April 10th will be not published in the Journal of Molecular Neuroscience but will be printed for the delegates separately. You can submit your abstract here.


ESN2015 quiz has ended – the lucky winner is Vladimirs Pilipenko form Latvia. Congratulations!

The organizing commitee of ESN2015 Conference decided to award one attentive scientist with free participation in the conference. For this until March 30th all the participants were able to take part in a short quiz about Estonia. The questions were composed according to the infomation provided by the Visit Estonia webpage. The persons who answered correctly 9 or 10 questions were cast in the final draw. All together there were 26 participants who managed to reach the final draw. Fortuna chose Vladimirs Pilipenko form Latvia to be lucky winner to receive the free participation. Congratulations! We would like to thank all the people who took part in the quiz and hope you found out both something exciting and surprising about Estonia.

Abstract Deadline Reminder

European Society for Neurochemistry  would like to remind that the deadline for abstracts for the ESN2015 Conference Molecular Mechanisms of Regulation in the Nervous System is now less than a week away – 15 March 2015.

Please consider submitting an abstract or booking your place for the Conference, we´d like to see you in Tartu, Estonia on June 14-17, 2015.

Abstracts can be submitted for consideration for an oral or poster presentation.
All successful abstracts will be published in the Journal of Molecular Neuroscience (Springer).

3rd Baltic-Nordic Summer School on Neuroinformatics in Tartu

At the same time with ESN2015 the 3rd Baltic-Nordic Summer School on Neuroinformatics "Multiscale computational neuroscience: Neurons, networks and systems" will take place in University of Tartu. The BNNI 2015 is focused on computational multiscale modelling of brain functions at the cellular, network and systems levels. ESN Young Members Symposia at the Tartu meeting

02 January - 15 February 2015

ESN will give young ESN members a platform to present their exciting research results as talk at an international conference. Young ESN members (PhD students in the final phase of their PhD and postdocs who finished their PhD in 2012 or more recently) are invited to apply for a symposium talk in the new ESN Young Members Symposia at the ESN-Meeting in Tartu (Estonia) in June 14-17, 2015 (http://www.esn2015.ee/).

Those young ESN members who will be selected for a presentation in an ESN Young Members Symposium will receive free registration and accomodation for the meeting as well as financial support for travel expenses to come to Tartu.

Applications containing an abstract of the proposed talk, the curriculum vitae  with a publication list of the applicant and a supporting letter of the PhD/Postdoc supervisor should be sent preferably by electronic mail before February 15th 2015, to the Secretary of ESN, Alessandro Prinetti (alessandro.prinetti@unimi.it).


2015 ESN Young Scientist Lectureship Awards

The ESN Young Scientist Lectureship Award (YSLA) recognizes research achievements of promising young scientists in neurochemistry research. Candidates of 38 years of age or younger at the submission deadline should be based in an European country and/or should have obtained most of their outstanding achievements in European research groups.

The ESN award consist of free registration, accommodation and travel to Tartu (Estonia) to attend the ESN Conference in June 14-17, 2015 (http://www.esn2015.ee/), where the awardees will present a 30 minute lecture and receive the YSLA medal.

Candidates can be proposed by any ESN member. Nominating letters should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a short description (with references) of the research accomplishments of the candidate, and a brief outline of the content that would be covered in an award presentation.

Proposals should be sent preferably by electronic mail before February 15th 2015, to the Secretary of the ESN, Alessandro Prinetti (alessandro.prinetti@unimi.it)
